I decided to phone him yesterday lunchtime, just to check it was ok for me to still go round last night. This was the exact conversation.

DAVIE: hello?

Me: hi….

DAVIE: is that Donna?

Me: uh, no!

DAVIE: is that Becky?

Me: yes, how many people are you seeing? (trying to make it sound like a joke, while actually feeling like I was about to bring up my lunch)

DAVIE: I was on the phone with Donna and the phone cut out, I thought that was her ringing back.

Me: well it’s me. I was just ringing to see if you still wanted me to come round tonight.

DAVIE: It’s up to you, innit?

Me: well, do you want me to or not?

DAVIE: It’s up to you!

Me: I’m not coming round if you don’t want me there…..

DAVIE: Look, can I call you back in a bit, I’m expecting a call.

Me: oh, FUCK YOU!!!!!

Slammed down the phone.

Donna, incidentally, is another one of my customers. He came into my work with her the other day, but I didn’t question it because I thought she was probably just a mate. Now I’m not so sure. I don’t know if anything is going on with them, and to be quite honest I don’t care. She is a total skank. Anyway, I was so angry after that, I sent him this text

“I’m sorry but I don’t think we should see each other anymore. I really like you, but you make me feel like I’m not even worth giving the time of day to. I’ll be round for DVD’s”

I then phoned his mum, and said we’d had a bit of a falling out, and would it be ok if I came round that night to get my DVD’s. she said that would be fine (his Mum loves me).

So I got The Maffia to take me round last night, because that way I could say “I cant stay long, my friend is waiting outside for me”. DAVIE answered the door, and he looked so sad!!!! I wasn’t expecting that at all, I was expecting him to either be really moody, or just to ignore me altogether, but he looked at me all sadly and said “why are you being all nasty for?” I just said “I’m not” and went into the lounge, where his Mum, brother and brothers girlfriend were. I stood and chatted to them while DAVIE went upstairs to get some other bits I had left there. Then as I was leaving his mum said “Don’t be a stranger will you Beck, we’ll see you again?” and I said “Yeah”

DAVIE walked me to the door, still with that really sad face on (which was quite literally breaking my heart) and I just said “Bye babe”, kissed him on the lips, and left. He watched me walk down the path and said “bye” after me. And that was it.

I am sad. I did have a little cry (but not too much, because a 4 week relationship doesn’t warrant a big cry). But I really, really liked him. I still do. If he so much as sent me a text saying that he was sorry, and would try harder I would take him back in an instant. Which would be stupid, but I still would. However, I don’t think that will happen. I can hope it will, but I don’t think it will.

And once again I am single.
