i am shocked and saddened because you all forgot my birthday. hell i forgot my own birthday!

not my actual birthday. my d-land birthday!!! the 22nd April last year was when i wrote my first d-land entry. i actually wrote 5 entries that day, it was very addictive. you can read my very first entry here, and laugh at my pathetic attempts to be interesting.

i find it funny that i attempted to use pseudonyms. "The Goof" that i talk about is actually Wizz (who incidentally phoned me last night - more on that later). but even funnier than that? The Gorgeous One that i talk about is actually Fenton (who lately i have taken to calling Fent-o which he loves and appreciates). i cant believe i ever fancied him!! if you had told me this time last year that me and him would be such good mates then i would have laughed. i would have said "no i will fancy him forever!" because, to be fair, it was one humdinger of a crush i had on him. i was blinded by his looks. then, i noticed a slight flaw in him that let me look at other men, and put me off him forever more. his personality.

(I'm just joking, i love him to pieces really)

also, in those earlier entries, Fent used to have all the girlies swarming round him like flies round shit. this doesnt happen so much anymore because he has slept with them all.

go on. treat yourself. have a gander at my early attempts to be funny and exciting. you will be dissappointed, but you may feel better about yourself.

can i just tell you all something? i have a channel on my digi-box called ABC1 where i can watch American sitcoms all day. i get things like Ellen (which i love), Mad About You, The Geena Davies Show, Hope And Faith, and my fave, one that ihad never heard of before i got the digi-box, 8 Simple Rules. now. can any of you Yanks help me out? during the afternoon episodes, which are older, the Dad is still present in every episode. during the evening ones, the Dad has gone, no-one ever mentions him and Grandad and cousin CJ appear to have replaced him. where did Dad go? did he die? if so how? its driving me nuts.

also, General Hospital is shown on this channel. can i just say something that may have me strung up by anyone from the US, but i really dont care because i have to get it off my chest.

i love Americans. i really do. i have always loved watching American sitcoms (some of my happiest childhood memories took place in front of The Cosby Show and Diff'rent Strokes). i love talk shows, movies and US music. you have the best rap and R&B stars out there. i have holidayed in Florida and loved it, and have always had a dream to go to New York or San Francisco.

however.

one thing that the US do not make well is soap operas. i watched one episode of General Hospital with a complete look of disgust/amazement that anybody could make it and think it was good TV. the storylines are verging on the ridiculous and the acting? well you could see better in a primary school nativity play.

one thing We British do well is soap operas. granted the storylines in Estenders at the moment make a trip to the DIY shop look interesting, but at least the storylines are believeable!!! you can really feel for the characters and get inside their heads because they are true to life (most of the time). and the acting is halfway decent. i just find it amazing that a country as fab as the US of A makes such terrible soaps.

rant over.

so, i heard from Wizz last night. he rang and said

"i told Kyli (his wife) that i was taking the dog out so that i could ring you"

i said "have you got the dog with you?"

he said "of course i have! i wouldnt say i was taking the dog out and then not take the dog. i'm not completely stupid!"

i said "i beg to differ"

i dont really know why he rang to be honest. he had about as much to say as a mute badger.

another thing about my first entry last year, i was excited at the time because my sisters were coming to stay on May 1st. how strange that i am excited about the exact same thing right now, because my sisters are coming to stay again on...........May 1st!!!

Fent-o came in earlier and said he thinks we should have a DVD/pizza night at mine on Friday while getting drunk. i dont like the way everyone assumes that just because it is the weekend i will be getting drunk.

i will be though.
